Young Laois Writers Publication Launch and Readings

A diverse group of young Laois teen writers have been attending creative writing workshops in Portlaoise Library. They have been equipped to express their personalities through the medium of prose and poetry. The essentials of memoir writing have enabled them to share their own lived experiences and life lessons with others.

Laois County Library Service, with tutor Ryan Dunne, hopes to publish a compilation of these writers’ work. This will be an important snapshot of life as experienced by the teenagers of Laois today, reflecting the diversity of cultures from which they come. Our writers will read their work in the library on Cruinniú na nÓg.
