Laois Local Ambassador – Rossa Bracken

Age 14

I love all things outdoors, photography,sports, travel and animals. I spend all my spare time photographing wildlife. When I was 11 I took a photograph of 4 fallow deer in the Slieve Bloom mountains and it won the Irish Wildlife Trusts photography competition in my age category.

I feel that photography can help get young people like me outdoors learning about what’s out there in their area. You can draw, photograph or write about wildlife just get out there. You don’t have to have expensive equipment!

For Cruinniú na nÓg on June 15th I am working on a project called ‘GET OUT’. It’s to encourage and get young people outside in their area to get to know its wildlife and history for the future.
