Exploring the Storiverse

  • Workshop

Exploring the Storiverse with KymsStoriverse will explore the ‘storiverse’, using books and story telling play props from natural materials. Stories become actively engaging through the use of play props and an exploring imagination. Children can create their own props to further explore storytelling, play and communicating with books and language.

Using story Spoons – wooden bamboo spoons created into story telling puppets and  step by step guidance, young children will be invited to create a set of spoons themed to a traditional tale – such as Goldilocks and the 3 Bears and Little Red Riding Hood, or children can create their own character spoon!

The workshop will explore the ‘storiverse’, using story telling/ play props from natural materials and is based on exploring play, creativity and leading your own play through stories. The demo part of the workshop will use story spoons to engage children with singing rhymes – The Wheels on the Bus. Using the spoons we will tell the story of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. This will show children how to explore the use of story spoons for play and story telling before creating.
