The Way it Was

  • Performance

Mohill Library will work with traditional singer and researcher Fionnuala Maxwell to celebrate Cruinniú na nÓg this year.

Fionnuala will facilitate four creative workshops in the library for children aged 8-12, during which the children will explore the rich heritage and history of their town through old pictures, articles, artifacts, songs, and stories. The young people will learn a song that Fionnuala has composed, incorporating the historical details they have explored. They will then be tasked with bringing the song to life visually and aurally by creating art, vocal recordings, and sound effects.

Fionnuala will record all elements of the creative work and produce a short song film, which will be premiered for the children and their families in Mohill Library on June 15th.
